Pick Me Up

This is completely non fashion related. Or maybe it is-- To have a sense of style, you need to have a sense of confidence. And let's be honest, everyday might not inspire confidence in you. There are certain days when you wake with a flaw you believe everyone notices. This is for these days.

Do You Have Influence?

Recently, I bought (Huge surprise, right???) some items from Amazon.com, ranging from Kanye West's album MBDTF to Breakfast at Tiffany's (I had never seen it!!!).

The cover of the book. I don't know what it is about it, I just love it.

But anyways, my post aren't dedicated to those items. I set aside some time to read a book I've had mentally bookmarked for awhile, Influence by fashion's favorite twins, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen. Influence is the Olsen's collection of interviews of people who influence them. The interviews include MANY legends, such as the always forward, Karl Lagerfeld, John Galliano, Terry Richardson and soo many others, including the twins themselves. The book is organized between the two sections: a more glamorous section with glossy pages and one with more egdier people and less glossy pages, whixh is supposed to symbolize the difference between the two twins. Anyways I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed the book. Packed full of inspiring images, the book is a slam dunk from the people interviewed, to the questions asked and the reponses. They twins also helped with the important quotes that you may want to put on your personal inspirational board, including "Real Creativity is being true to yourself and getting people to go with you. That's Influence"-- Bob Colacello. And it's not only fashion, in the back after the conclusion, they include a list of charities that anyone with a conscience should give back to. After all, "To be able to have it all, you have to be able to give back"--Diane von Furstenberg.

The back cover. Just amazing, isn't it?? (And no, I don't know which twin that is. I'm just assuming it's Ashley.)

An image from the book. It's piece designed by Karl Lagerfeld from a 2008 collection. Fab, right???

Another incredible image from the book. This is one of Lauren Hutton in her heyday. Beautiful.
A gorgeous picture of Mary Kate Olsen.
Aren't you feening for this book yet?? It's just that fab.
